Two prominent Islamist organizations, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and Democracy for the Arab World Now (DAWN), joined with members of Congress on June 15 to unveil “a new street sign for ‘Jamal Khashoggi Way’ outside of the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Washington, D.C.”
Saudi agents murdered Khashoggi, a leading critic of the Saudi government, in 2018 at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.
The event was cosponsored by, among others, Amnesty International, CODEPINK, Freedom House, Freedom Initiative, Human Rights Watch, PEN America, Reporters Without Borders.
